Transportation to Portland, Maine
During my weekend away in Portland, Maine, I traveled from Chicago on Southwest Airlines. I packed light and looked forward to my journey. Spring rain and thunderstorms throughout the Midwest and East Coast caused a couple of delays. It was an adventure, but I made it! I stayed at the Holiday Inn on the Bay where rooms are nice and spacious with beautiful views of Casco Bay. The hotel accommodated the WITS conference and participants with excellent service. The team from Visit Portland Maine lined up an array of activities and information to make my weekend away in Portland a memorable time.
Places to See and Eat
It’s great to visit a walkable city like Portland, Maine. The Holiday Inn on the Bay was in walking distance of downtown, the Old Port waterfront, artsy shops, boutiques, and fantastic eating spots. Of course, Portland is known for lobster and seafood. The city doesn’t disappoint if you’re a foodie. My stomach was satiated after eating at Eventide Restaurant, HIgh Roller Lobster Restaurant, and J’s Oyster. During a weekend away in Portland, Maine, you must try Maine potato donuts at The Holy Donut! You won’t be disappointed.
